Tata Steel Europe has started supplying the UK auto makers with dent-resistant steel which is also fuel-efficient owing to its lightness, the company said in a press release. The product helps withstand everyday knocks in the car park, the release said. It also helps car manufacturers make doors and bonnets that are 7 per cent lighter, which improves cars fuel efficiency. The strengthening technique involves painting and baking of the steel to give it increased strength and dent resistance.
