The marketing wizard
Born in 1968, Johnson is a Graduate in Automobile Engineering with a Postgraduate qualification in Management. He has also accomplished the Advanced Management programme of European School of Management and Technology (ESMT) based in Germany, in 2013. He has been with Voltas and Kion Group in material handling equipment business, since 1998, in various capacities and rose to head the marketing function in 2008. He has experience of establishing more than 50 sales and service dealerships for this business since 2009.
In his current role, he is responsible for formulating and implementing various sales, product and marketing strategies, including planning process for new product introductions, aimed at sustained increase in market share. Johnson has been instrumental in establishing more than 60 dealership touch-points across the country and working on plans to expand the same to 100 dealership touch-points during the next few years. As a result of effective penetration into deeper markets, Kion India is in a commanding position this year, increasing market share by three percentage points over last year, in the context of declining market.
In his free time, Johnson reads books of leading personalities, to draw inspiration and motivation and also listens to music for relaxation. He had opportunities of travelling to the Middle East, Europe, China and South-East Asian countries.
