Universal for 35 stores in 2 years
Universal Construction Machinery and Equipment Ltd said it will launch 35 exclusive stores in the next two years across the country. According to Ranjeet More, Managing Director, Universal, the company would also set up assembly units for its equipment in ten locations in the five zones including Guwahati, Jodhpur, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Nagpur, each with an investment of close to Rs 3 crore in the franchisee model.

Replying to query in a press conference, More said the company presently had installed capacity to manufacture machines worth Rs 750 crore at its three plants. Universal, which has a tie-up with Tata Group for international markets, has plans to foray into CIS countries and South America, which offered huge potential, he added.
