XCMG Starts Production at New Energy Factory in Indonesia
XCMG has commenced production at its first overseas new energy manufacturing facility at the Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park in North Maluku. The facility started operations after the first batch of new energy equipment rolled off the production line and was delivered to strategic partner Tsingshan Holding Group’s industrial park.
The new manufacturing base integrates equipment production, localised R&D and service capabilities aimed at supporting operating requirements across Indonesia’s mining, infrastructure and industrial park logistics sectors. The facility is expected to shorten delivery lead times while enabling large-scale supply of electric construction machinery.
XCMG is also developing a used-equipment circulation and parts remanufacturing system to improve resource efficiency. The plant forms part of the company’s broader strategy focused on high-end, intelligent, green, global and service-oriented development.
The commissioning completes XCMG’s integrated R&D, production, supply, sales and service chain in Indonesia. The company has operated in the country for more than 30 years and currently supports over 30,000 units of equipment through its sales and service network, more than 100 specialised service vehicles and a three-tier spare parts and maintenance system.
Local employees account for nearly 80 per cent of XCMG’s workforce in Indonesia. The company expects locally manufactured new energy machinery to support Indonesia’s transition towards lower-carbon mining, infrastructure and industrial operations.
