KIOCL to explore iron ore, gold in two states

KIOCL will take up exploration of iron ore and gold in Tirupur (Tamil Nadu) and Mysuru (Karnataka), respectively. Union Steel Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh said that KIOCL has also been recognised as a mineral exploration entity under the MMDR Act 1957 for carrying out works in the country.

Iron ore pellet output at KIOCL crosses 1 mt in H1

The production of iron ore pellets at KIOCL?s Mangaluru plant has crossed 1 million tonne (mt) in the first six months of 2017-18. According to a company press release, the production of pellet has crossed 1 million tonnes in the first half of 2017-18 with a sale of 1.125 million tonne of pellet during the period. This is against a sale of 0.16 million tonne in the first six months of 2016-17.

KIOCL, NMDC and RINL decides to build 13 MTPA slurry pipeline between Nagarnar and Vizag

Steel majors KIOCL, NMDC and RINL have decided to set up a 13 MTPA slurry pipeline between Nagarnar and Vizag for carrying iron ore with Rs 3,500 crore investment. MoU has already been inked between them for setting up a JV in which KIOCL will hold a 48 per cent stake. NMDC and Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd will hold 26 per cent each.

Karnataka to consider KIOCL plea for mining in Tumkur district

The Karnataka government will take a decision on processing the application by Kudremukh Iron Ore Company (KIOCL)?on seeking a 116.55 hectare mining lease at Hosahalli in Chikanayakanahalli taluk of Tumkur district after it prepares a framework for mining iron ore and allied minerals in the State,?Chief Minister Siddaramaiah told the State Legislative Assembly on July 25. Replying to a call attention notice by JR Lobo?(Congress) Siddaramaiah said KIOCL?had applied for the mining lease in 2008.
