CAT 320D2 Hydraulic Excavator
Breakthrough technology
With a robust engine that works with low pressure fuel system with an electric governor, less susceptible to bad fuel.

Electric fuel priming pump circuit and is automatically activated to improve serviceability and reduce downtime.

Eco-Mode-power setting - with this new engine system, Cat-320D Series 2 is capable of reducing the fuel consumption up to 15 per cent in heavy duty application.

Comes with a smaller and high efficiency pilot pump and newly designed main pump. Hydraulic efficiency increased by 3 per cent. Efficiency is increased by minimising extra gap between gears and gear case in order to reduce oil agitation.

Features
Robust Cat C7.1 Engine - meets U.S. EPA Tier 2, EU Stage II regulations and China Stage 1 regulations.

Two stage filtration system - replacing a three/four stage fuel filter system which reduces maintenance cost. Both filters are located in the pump compartment for easy access from ground level. A 4 micron primary filter incorporates an integrated water separator. A fuel pressure differential gauge is standard to reduce owning and operating costs.

Four percent torque increase compared with 320D C6.6. Three percent fuel consumption reduction for the 320D Series2 vs. 320D. High-tensile-strength steel upper frame and one-piece swing table. Versatile boom and stick reinforced with internal baffled plates. Sealed and lubricated rollers and idlers in track roller frame.

Grease lubricated undercarriage offers up to a 25 per cent improvement vs. dry seal undercarriage.

Areas of design changes/ other sub-systems 2 fuel filter technology.

The service interval for both the filters is now 500 hours, compared to 250 hours in 320D with a C6.4 engine.

The C7.1 engine has the capability of working up to 4,000 m altitude without derate. Startability on the C7.1 engine is improved with the addition of glow plugs, two 750 CCA batteries, 8 kW starter motor.
