Komatsu debuted its new-generation PC220LCi-12 hydraulic excavator (bucket capacity 1.2 m3) at bauma 2025. The PC220LCi-12 is the European-spec model of the PC200i-12, a new-generation hydraulic excavator launched in Japan in December 2024. It is equipped with Information and Communication Technology (ICT), including the latest generation of intelligent machine control technology. At the exhibition, Komatsu also demonstrated the PC220LCi-12 and introduce its latest ICT technology.

Like Japan, the construction industry in Europe, North America and Australia faces challenges such as a shortage of skilled workers, cost reductions due to rising prices and the need to improve productivity. As a result, demand for ICT construction equipment that enhances safety and efficiency continues to rise. Komatsu plans to launch this flagship model, PC220LCi-12, in Europe, North America and Australia during fiscal year 2025. By using it alongside Smart Construction, a digital solution that visualises and optimises construction sites, Komatsu will contribute to the digital transformation and problem-solving of customers’ jobsites.
