Volvo CE launches EC650 mining excavator at bauma CONEXPO India
Volvo Construction Equipment India has commercially launched the EC650, a 65T class mining excavator, at bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026 in Greater Noida. The new excavator strengthens Volvo CE’s mining equipment portfolio and is designed for demanding mass excavation and mining applications.
Powered by the Volvo D13E engine delivering 435 hp, the EC650 features a robust undercarriage, heavy-duty boom and arm, and advanced hydraulic systems aimed at delivering durability, fuel efficiency and productivity in challenging operating conditions.
The excavator is available for immediate deliveries to mining customers as the buying season begins. It will also be offered through Volvo CE’s Equipment-as-a-Service model, providing customers with flexible access to advanced construction and mining solutions.
Beyond equipment supply, Volvo CE will support customers across the equipment lifecycle through connected services, productivity solutions, repair and maintenance agreements and application-focused offerings to improve uptime and site performance.
At bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026, Volvo CE showcased its widest equipment portfolio across construction, compactors, mining and electric equipment categories. The display included its 20-tonne excavator range comprising the EC210, EC215 and EC220, along with the EC300, SD110, DD90 and L120 Electric Wheel Loader. The mining zone featured the EC480, EC650 and L150 models.
The showcase reflects Volvo CE’s Aaj Banayein Kal campaign, which highlights the role of contractors, customers and operators in shaping India’s infrastructure growth.
