Faster execution with least investment is key advantage
P Royston, Business Line Manager, Hydraulic Attachment Tools, Epiroc Mining India, shares more.
How do you look at the importance of attachments for secondary operations?
Attachment upgrades a hydraulic excavator into a hydraulic carrier that is a multitasking machine. It enables a hydraulic carrier to execute a range of operations that is not possible only with a bucket. By converting an excavator into a multitasking machine, it enables the execution of jobs faster with least investment.
What are the key advantages of using attachments with equipment?
Faster execution of a job with least investment is the key advantage. With the same base carrier, a user can complete various jobs based on the segments and applications with different attachments, thereby increasing the utilisation of machine with increase in productivity.
What are the attachments you offer for construction/mining equipment?
We offer a wide range of attachments starting with hydraulic breakers with drum cutters, bucket crushers, combi cutters, concrete busters, plate compactors, bulk and demolition pulverisers, hydromagnet, multigrapple etc.
What are the customised solutions from Epiroc?
Our customised solutions include drum cutters for different segments such as tunnelling, trenching, soft rock mining to under water rock excavation with variation in cutting drums parameters and picks. This is followed by hydraulic breakers required for tunnelling operations, underwater rock excavation, slag breaking or primary breaking in dusty mines with the addition of compressors, active dust protection system with intelligent protection system. This is further added by flexibility in combi-cutters with steel cutting version to concrete cutting model.
What are the opportunities and challenges of using attachments?
The opportunity is that we can serve customer by single window but at the same time, customer needs to make understand the applicability of the attachments and scope of work that can be done by these attachments to avoid misuse of the product. The attachments need to be utilised with discipline and for the same, the customers/operators need to be trained specially.
What are the demand drivers in India?
Urban development, infrastructure growth, roads and highways development, and demolition of old structures shall fuel the demand of attachments in future.
