Jaideep Shekhar is Equipment India Person of the Year 2024
Jaideep Shekhar, Managing Director, Terex India, was selected as the Equipment India Person of the Year 2024 during the 12th BKT Equipment India Awards held on 10 October 2024 at Jio Convention Centre, Mumbai. The jury recognised Terex India’s impressive growth under Shekhar’s strong leadership.
Receiving the prestigious award, Shekhar said, “I’m deeply grateful to the jury and Equipment India for this remarkable honour. This award reflects not only my contributions but also the dedication and hard work of my team. I have been associated with the industry for more than 25 years, and this award motivates me to keep pushing boundaries and to lead the growth with integrity.”
He was presented the award by Pratap Padode, Founder, First Council; Vipin Sondhi, Chairman, former MD and CEO of JCB India and Ashok Leyland and Equipment India Person of the Year 2013; Sandeep Singh, Managing Director, Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery and Equipment India Person of the Year 2017; Dimitrov Krishnan, Managing Director, Equipment India Person of the Year 2023; and Ashok Chhajer, Sr General Manager – OE Sales, Balkrishna Industries.
Held as a part of the India Construction Festival, the 12th BKT Equipment India Awards 2024 marked the convergence of industry stalwarts and leading construction equipment manufacturers, as well as components, accessories, spares and hardware companies, all united to acknowledge and celebrate the excellence and innovation within the construction equipment sector.
Some of other winning companies included Schwing Stetter India, Sany Heavy Industry India, Ammann India, Schwing Stetter India, Caterpillar India, Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery, Action Construction Equipment; BEML Limited, Doosan Bobcat India, LiuGong India, AJAX Engineering, Case Construction India, etc.
The jury members, comprising industry leaders and experts, played a crucial role in selecting the deserving winners. The jury members for the 11th Equipment India Awards included: Ashok Chhajer, Senior General Manager - OE Sales, Balrishna Industries; Atasi Das, Assistant Vice President, GR Infra; Sameer Malhotra, Director & CEO, Shriram Automall India; Seshnath B, MD & CEO, Walvoil Fluid Power India; SP Rajan, Head-Plant & Machinery, L&T Construction; Sudhir Hoshing, Joint Managing Director, IRB Infrastructure; Ratan Lal Kashyap, President – SCM, Dineshchandra Agrawal Infracon; HS Mohan, Ex-CEO, Infrastructure Equipment Skill Council; and Shyam Gyanani, Director, Trident International.
This year, the selection process for the winners was characterized by transparency and integrity, as the jury diligently reviewed the findings presented by First Construction Council in its Construction Equipment Data Report 2024 and by Equipment India. The availability of equipment sales data from relevant companies for the financial year contributed to this transparent process.
