Komatsu and L&T launch two new hydraulic excavators
Komatsu and Larsen & Toubro have introduced two new models of hydraulic excavators in 30 ton class - Komatsu PC300LC-8M0 and Komatsu PC350LC-8M0 for applications in the stone, granite and marble industry. The new models were launched jointly by Masaaki Kamizono, Managing Director, Komatsu India Pvt Ltd (KIPL) and Arvind K Garg, Executive Vice-President, Construction & Mining Machinery, Larsen & Toubro, at an event held in KIPL?s ultra-modern plant in Oragadam, Chennai recently.

The 30-ton class of machines are popular in the Indian market, and L&T had introduced the Komatsu PC300 model almost a decade back. Sensing the need for a sturdier machine to address the granite and marble segment, L&T has worked closely with Komatsu to develop and roll out these innovative models. These next-generation machines have been taken up for manufacturing by Komatsu and will be marketed by L&T through its nationwide network of sales offices.

These machines are heavy-duty models with strengthened body, large counterweight and stronger undercarriage fitted with large capacity bucket and reinforcements. They are fitted with Komatsu SAA6D114E-3 powerful diesel engine developing 260 HP. The power mode is for faster cycle times and higher production while the economy mode saves on fuel consumption. Both the models house a large spacious new-design automatic air-conditioner cabin providing superior comfort and safety to the operator.

PC300LC-8 and PC350LC-8 are built with the next-generation Komtrax, the tracking system that helps the user monitor the machine anytime, anywhere and improve machine performance as well as reduce fuel usage. The features include colour monitor with advanced machine monitoring function and improved visibility and resolution with large TFT LCD.

Several new features of the models include: SE boom (6 m), ME bucket (with 1.9, 2.1, 2.3 cum options), improved ICT technology, economical and ecological improvements and improved fuel efficiency. Komatsu ME bucket has high durability and is effective for high productivity with low-resistant excavation.
