Krishnapatnam Port unveils centralised control centre
In sync with its new-age initiatives, Krishnapatnam Port on the east coast of India has established a centralised state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre. Hansraj Gangaram Ahir, Minister of State for Home Affairs, visited the port to inaugurate the facility. With several close watch centres placed around the port, it is imperative to have a well-founded, centralised command centre to supervise the working around the port. The Command Centre uses the latest technologies to monitor port security and operations. Equipped with several screens, the centre displays information on a real-term basis which includes port channel and berth activity, port railway sidings activity, warehouse stock information, RFID (related truck movement container vessel throughput) and advance vehicle tracking system among others.
