Krishnapatnam Port on the east coast of India has established a centralised state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre. Hansraj Gangaram Ahir, Minister of State for Home Affairs, visited the port to inaugurate the facility. The Command Centre uses the latest technologies to monitor port security and operations. Equipped with several screens, the centre displays information on a real-term basis which includes port channel and berth activity, port railway sidings activity, warehouse stock information, RFID (related truck movement container vessel throughput) and advance vehicle tracking system among others.
