Perkins Names Richard Hemmings as VP & GM for Global Sales
Perkins has recently welcomed Richard Hemmings as Vice President and General Manager for Global Sales, Marketing, Service and Parts (SMSP), effective 1 January 2026.
In his new role, Hemmings will lead the company’s commercial operations, overseeing global sales and marketing of Perkins-branded products, along with parts and services for the Perkins aftermarket business. He will be responsible for strengthening engagement with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and the company’s global distribution network.
Hemmings brings nearly two decades of experience with Perkins, having joined the company as a graduate trainee in Peterborough, UK. Over the years, he has held a range of leadership roles across account management, market development, strategy and sales, most recently serving as General Manager for the aftermarket business.
He said the new role comes at a pivotal time as Perkins advances its strategic plan for profitable growth, supported by continued investment in its industrial engine portfolio, advanced power solutions and digital connectivity and condition monitoring offerings.
The leadership transition follows the decision of Jaz Gill to retire after a distinguished career spanning more than three decades with Perkins. Gill will retire on 31 March 2026, having held several senior roles across aftermarket, product marketing and global OEM sales, and having served as Vice President and General Manager of SMSP since 2017.
During his tenure, Gill worked closely with the Perkins distribution network and OEM customers to drive business growth, innovation and customer-focused solutions across global markets.
