Reposing Trust
Sikandrabad, Uttar Pradesh-based Sai Dham Industries has been growing its business and reach with strong and robust machine fleet of 14 Terex backhoe loaders. Chandra Kant Vohra, Owner, single-handedly built his business reposing his trust on Terex backhoe loaders, tells a rather interesting tale on how he came into machine renting business, even though his family had a flourishing timber business for over 50 years which was started by his father as a timber merchant. They still own timber business and are one of the renowned name in the business of timber in Uttar Pradesh.
Sharing his memories of the startup days, Vohra?s eyes light up and with high excitement, as he explains how he sensed and spotted an opportunity as a rental company of backhoe loaders and other construction and material handling equipment. With infrastructure expansion projects in National Capital Region (NCR) and the rapidly growing construction activities, he was almost certain that the building material industry was in for good times and to ramp up the production, mechanisation was absolutely necessary. He was one of the first movers with this concept, and brought his first Terex backhoe loader to approach the tile and ceramic companies in the region. The rest as he says is history. Today, he has 14 Terex backhoe loaders, deployed at various sites catering to high volume material handling requirements of this industry.
Few of his Terex backhoe loaders are working at the Sikandrabad and Rajasthan sites of Kajaria Ceramics Ltd. Vohra says that all his machines are working with minimum downtime and low operating costs, giving high returns.
Why did he select Terex machine for his venture? Answering the question, he says that once he saw the design of a Terex backhoe loader, with KOEL engine and Carraro axle, transmission, at that very instant he was very clear in his mind that the owning and operating cost of this machine will be the lowest among the pack. During his interactions with Terex executives, he felt convinced that this company is committed to succeed and customer service is at the centre stage of their success strategy. He reposed faith on Terex?s after sales service of the product and says that he was never let down.
Vohra is highly nostalgic while talking about his first Terex backhoe deal, the TLB 740S in 2005, he still remembers the date of delivery of his machine from Terex as March 31, 2005 and machine no 128. Today, this machine is still in operation and has crossed over 30,000 operating hours. Since then, he has continuously added Terex backhoes to his fleet and today is a proud owner of 14 Terex backhoe loaders. Vohra remains very optimistic in the medium to long term business scenario of the building and building material industry and feels that this decade shall change the fortunes of a very large population of the country and especially Uttar Pradesh. Vohra strongly supports all Terex initiatives related to aftercare, and sales especially buyback schemes initiated by Terex, and remains thankful to all his well-wishers, while he kept working with single minded focus on growing and expanding his fleet rental business.
