TIL launches TMS 855
The new TMS 855 truck crane from TIL is a statement in power, precision, durability and high performance epitomising, yet another manufacturing excellence of TIL. The crane comes equipped with cutting-edge technology and all the latest features to augment efficiency, safety and operator comfort. One special feature of this machine is the long boom - which is designed for optimum lifting performance. The U-shaped cross-section provides a natural cradling position for boom sections and the large wear pads offer superior boom alignment during telescoping and allows for an excellent transition of weights between sections.
Some of the salient features of the TMS 855 are:
- Lifting power maxes out at 55 metric tonne, at a radius of 3 m, and the long 5-section telescopic formed boom enables a maximum reach of 41.3 m when fully extended.
- The boom has a unique U-shaped cross-section that provides for a natural cradling position for boom sections. Telescopic sections slide on adjustable and replaceable low-friction wear resistance pads that offer superior boom alignment during telescoping and allow for an excellent transition of weights between sections.
- Free slew ensures precise and easy positioning of the boom over the load.
- Electronic Load Moment Indicator provides the operator with an electronic display of the boom-angle, boom-length, radius, relative load moment, permissible load, load indication, etc. Audio-visual warnings are integrated into the system to guard against unwanted situations, such as a two-block condition, and a Control Lever Lockout mechanism enables motion cut-off to ensure safe operations with load during telescoping, derricking and hoisting.
- A 5-Point Outrigger System - with the fifth hydraulic jack placed at the front - provides unmatched stability while performing over-360-degree duties in challenging terrain.
- Added safety is accorded by a Pendant Limit Switch on the boom-head that prevents over-hoist and a third wrap indicator on the hoist barrel ensures three turns of the rope on the hoist drum.
- Hydraulic relief valves protect pumps and structures from excessive pressure. Lock and counterbalance valves fitted on derrick, telescopic and outrigger cylinders sustain rams in the event of hydraulic failure.
- Ergonomically designed operator cabin and joystick crane controls enable fatigue-free operations. Better view and increased comfort imply that lifts are completed quicker and more accurately.
- With a maximum unladen road speed of 50 kmph, the TMS 855 has greater inter-site mobility. A larger wheel base and walking beam bogie suspension offer limited off-road mobility and large 12x20 tyres enable superior road grip.
