UltraTech Deploys 45 E-Trucks for Clinker Transport
UltraTech Cement has commenced deployment of 45 electric heavy-duty trucks for clinker transportation in partnership with Energy In Motion (EIM).

The trucks will transport clinker from Kotputli Cement Works in Rajasthan to Dadri Cement Works and Sikandarabad Cement Works in the Delhi-NCR region. The route covers a 250-km lead distance across Rajasthan, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

The deployment follows a transport service contract between UltraTech, EIM and a logistics service provider. The fleet includes 45 electric trucks, each with a 55-tonne capacity. It is expected to reduce over 8,900 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually and replace about 2.9 million litres of diesel use every year.

K C Jhanwar, Managing Director, UltraTech Cement, said the move reflects the company’s belief that decarbonising logistics is as important as decarbonising production.

UltraTech has been expanding cleaner transport in cement logistics, having introduced CNG trucks in 2021, LNG trucks in 2022 and electric trucks in 2024. As of FY26, the company operates 638 CNG trucks, 32 LNG trucks and 89 electric trucks across its manufacturing units.

The initiative strengthens UltraTech’s green logistics fleet of over 750 trucks and supports India’s transition towards zero-emission commercial transportation.
