VME Relies on Elematic Technology
Precast technology enables VME to supply well-designed, durable homes fast.

Projects need to be built not just fast but taking into account India?s extreme weather conditions, infrastructural challenges and pricing. So eight years ago, the Chennai-based construction group VME chose Elematic?s machinery needed to start production of hollow-core slabs, columns and beams at its factory. VME precast undertakes turn-key projects from structural design, production, logistics to the erection of precast elements. For VME - using precast was the only option.

Precast technology enabled the company to supply its clients better designed, greener and durable buildings - all in a safer environment. Elematic really was the only company which could deliver all, says Manickam Kannan, the company?s Director. ?We are very happy to be buying Elematic equipment, over the years, it has served us well,? he says. It?s Elematic?s high quality, built-to-last machinery that has impressed VME the most.

?Elements that come out of the machinery like the hollow core slabs are really very good and it?s appreciated by all of our clients, good to use straight away. We are very happy with the investment we made with Elematic,? says Kannan.

Two years later the company expanded its operations together with its Finnish partner VaBe and moved to a larger factory. The plant, located in one of the fastest growing industrial hubs in Chennai, has a capacity to manufacture 18,000 sq ft of precast concrete elements annually such as hollow core slabs, concrete columns, beams and wall panels using precast technology.

In the future, VME is able to double the capacity of the Chennai factory by adding more casting beds and more table moulds.
