The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) has issued two major civil contracts worth Rs 2,907.46 crore to the joint venture (JV) of Afcons Infrastructure and SAM India Builtwell for constructing underground tunnels and stations for Kanpur and Agra Metro Rail projects.

The project work order value is Rs 1,819.79 crore. The work includes designing and constructing a 7.93 km underground tunnel from the start of the underground ramp to the end of the ramp after the RBS college metro station, including seven underground metro stations, architectural finishes, Electrical and Mechanical (E&M) works, Tunnel Ventilation System (TVS), Environmental Control System (ECS), etc. on Agra Metro Rail Corridor 1 project. The tender was floated for contract package AGCC-02 of Agra Metro in August 2021 with an estimated cost of Rs 2,200 crores. The deadline for the project is 36 months.
