KEMROC Cutter Attachments: Innovation Continued
After the sale of brand Erkat and the drum cutter business to Atlas Copco in 2017, the company was rechristened as KEMROC Spezialmaschinen GmbH.

KEMROC has not only continued to manufacture and market patch planers, auger drives, cutter wheels and universal cutters, but also introduced new products like diamond cutting wheels, rust cleaning heads, injection attachments for ground stabilisation, double-drum chain cutters and chain trenchers for narrow trenches. More information on double-drum chain cutters and chain trenchers for narrow trenches, which have been introduced to Indian markets, is given below.

Double-drum chain cutters, named EK models, and patented by KEMROC are available for excavators from 2 to 50 tonne. Cutting is done by the entire width of cutters as there is no middle blind area like in conventional double-drum cutters. This not only improves the ease of operation (as no need to swing excavator left and right during cutting) but greatly improves productivity due to cutting being done by the entire cutter width. These cutters are available in different widths to suit customer requirements and produce perfect cut profile. Chain trenchers for narrow trenches, named ETR, are available for 18-60 tonne class excavators and can cut trenches of 200-600 mm wide and up to 2.5 m depth. These machines have been designed specifically for laying optical fibre cables and are being used for other applications as well that require narrow and deep trenches. KEMROC is also coming out with three series of new generation double-drum cutters in February 2020.
