LAPP India Marks 30 Years, Becomes Largest Market After Germany
LAPP, a global leader in cable and connectivity solutions, has completed 30 years of operations in India, with the country emerging as its largest market after Germany. The milestone reflects the company’s long-term commitment to India, where it has expanded manufacturing capabilities, developed local talent and strengthened its presence across key industrial sectors.
LAPP’s India journey began when the company identified the country’s long-term economic potential during the 1980s. After working with local partners for several years, LAPP established its India headquarters in Bengaluru in 1996 and opened its first cable production facility in Jigani in 1998.
Under its “In India for India” approach, LAPP has continuously invested in local manufacturing and engineering capabilities. The company currently operates three manufacturing facilities, three warehouses, two harnessing plants and nine regional sales offices across the country. Its Bhopal facility in Madhya Pradesh has become the largest manufacturing unit in LAPP’s global production network.
LAPP India has grown into a strategic market for the group, employing around 500 people and serving customers across industrial automation, manufacturing, infrastructure, rail, renewable energy, oil and gas, food and beverage, e-mobility and other sectors.
The company combines global expertise with local manufacturing capabilities, with teams across Germany, Switzerland and India collaborating on product development and customer solutions. LAPP highlighted that India’s economic growth, industrialisation, infrastructure development and energy transition align closely with the industries it serves.
Headquartered in Bengaluru, LAPP India is a wholly owned subsidiary of LAPP and operates manufacturing facilities in Bengaluru, Bhopal and Dharuhera.
