Liebherr Launches LMC 80 Soil Mixing Cutter
Liebherr recently expanded its deep foundation portfolio with the launch of the LMC 80 cutter soil mixer, designed for noise-reduced and low-vibration ground improvement applications. The solution can be used across mixable soil types to install load-bearing or sealing elements.

The LMC 80 is operated with Liebherr’s LRB 23 or LRB 355 piling and drilling rigs as carrier machines. Using an extension linkage, the LRB 23 can produce ground mixing elements up to 36 m deep, while the LRB 355 can reach depths of up to 40 m. The system can create panels with cross sections ranging from 2,800 by 500 to 1,000 mm, depending on site and ground conditions.

The mixing cutter features four cutting wheels driven by a maximum torque of 2 x 80 kilonewton metres and a rotational speed of up to 30 revolutions per minute. It can also be swivelled by 135 degrees around the mixing axis without moving the leader, enabling flexible operation on site.

Liebherr has integrated verticality measurement, LIPOS positioning and MyJobsite digital support into the system to improve precision, data recording and jobsite analysis. The LMC 80 also reduces material handling requirements, as existing soil is mixed with binding suspension and no excavated material needs to be transported. The model was presented during the 50th anniversary of Liebherr-Werk Nenzing GmbH in June 2026 and is now available.
