Success at Kakinada Port
Thirty SDLG LG938L and LG958L wheel loaders are hard at work loading coal onto trains for up to 20 hours per day, at Kakinada Port.

Located in the state of Andhra Pradesh on the east coast of India, the Kakinada Port with a coal handling capacity of 14 million per annum is the principal intermediate port and the safest harbour on the east coast of India. Through a commercial canal, imported commodities such as coal are transported from ship to shore on steel barges and once loaded onshore, the goods are then transported via a single rail line from Kakinada Port to Samalkota, covering a total length of 126 km.

The trains run to a strict schedule, so local coal handling specialist N.C. Enterprise has no time to waste in keeping the operations moving. For this, the company?s General Manager - Operation, Siva Shankar, relies on a fleet of SDLG wheel loaders to get the job done.

?SDLG wheel loaders are well-designed and easy to maintain,? explains Shankar. ?This, combined with their competitive price, made them an ideal solution for our jobsite.?

The fleet is a mixture of SDLG LG938L and LG958L wheel loaders. Both the 3 t LG938L and the 5 t LG958L feature powerful and efficient Deutz engines, delivering excellent efficiency and breakout force. The cabs are built to offer operators maximum visibility with wrap-around glass and air-conditioning to keep them cool in the 40?C heat. The machines also come with a two-year warranty, offering peace of mind to customers.

?We purchased our first SDLG wheel loaders almost five years ago and so far we have received dependable support from our local dealer Detroit Mining and Construction Equipment,? adds Shankar. ?We have built a strong relationship and the good service that the salespeople and service technicians have delivered has led to our company purchasing more machines from them.?

A winning partnership
Detroit Mining and Construction Equipment was awarded the Excellent Dealer accolade by SDLG for delivering consistent performance and efficient service at an awards ceremony at the company?s global dealer meeting. ?Timely delivery and efficiency were factored in when we purchased the machines from Detroit Mining and Construction Equipment. The team provided us with realistic lead times and once the machines were working on site, spare parts and support was available right when we needed it,? Shankar said. ?I have enjoyed this partnership thanks to the strong parts supply capability and efficient call-to-action service, which are critical to maintaining uptime on our site.?
