Technology rules the roost at Auto Expo 2020 Components
The 15th edition of Auto Expo 2020 Components organised jointly by Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), concluded successfully on February 9. The four-day trade show witnessed the presence of ministers like Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of State, Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises and Parliamentary Affairs; Goutham Reddy, Minister for Industries & Commerce and Information Technology, Government of Andhra Pradesh; and senior government officials like Arun Goel, Secretary, Department of Heavy Industries, Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises. In addition, top representatives from Maruti, Tata Motors, Kia Motors, Ashok Leyland and various others also came to experience the advancements in the auto component sector.

Expressing satisfaction on the success of the show, Deepak Jain, President, ACMA said, ?It is indeed a pleasure to have organised such an extravagant show, the confidence shown by component industry and the trade visitors alike is reassuring. The show truly reflects the confidence in the Indian auto component industry and its readiness for the future of mobility. It is noteworthy that the exhibitors displayed world-class, generation next products, which are conforming with the theme ?Technovation?. The show also portrays the capability and the willingness of the component industries in India to align itself with the government?s vision of making India a $5 trillion economy by 2025, of which auto component industry?s contribution will be $250 billion.?

Speaking at event, Vipin Sondhi, Chairman, CII Trade Fair Council and Managing Director and CEO, Ashok Leyland, said, ?I want to congratulate ACMA, SIAM and CII for organising a world-class exhibition in a phase which is going through a disruption and discontinuities. The footfall at the exhibition itself is resounding proof of confidence in the component industries. The display of innovative and advanced technologies, EV components and emphasis on import substitution for electric vehicles is of great importance. It holds key to the future of mobility, as well as promise to become successful internationally.?

Another key aspect of the expo was that around 400 companies launched over 1,200 new products, which exhibits component industry preparedness to support the transformation in automotive space. It also underlines their focus on R&D and innovations. With over 1,500 exhibitors and 1.15 lakh visitors, the 15th edition of the Auto Expo 2020 Components stays as the biggest auto component expo held till date.

The expo themed ?Technovation - Discover Innovations for Future? reflected the potential of Indian auto component industry to adopt the latest advancements in BS VI and Emissions, EVs, Safety, and e-mobility. There were 16 companies participated in the Technovation pavilion, out of which around 10 companies showcased the latest electric vehicles components like lithium battery packs and chargers, powertrain components and software application. The pavilion also had eight start-ups who showcased their innovative products and solution across segments for the very first time.

Organised from February 6 to 9, 2020 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, the Auto Expo 2020 ? Components saw over 1,500 companies exhibiting their latest products and solutions, of which 200 are international exhibitors from over 20 countries. There are pavilions dedicated for countries like Japan, South Korea, UK, Germany, Turkey and Canada at the expo.
