B&R's latest addition to its Compact-S series is a compact controller with an integrated switch. With an integrated switch, it enables daisy-chain cabling between network stations.

At a width of only 37.5 mm including the power supply, the X20CP0420 is extremely compact. The controller achieves cycle times down to 4 ms and is equipped with 128 MB RAM and 256 MB internal flash memory. With Ethernet, USB and RS232, the controller offers plenty of communication options. An optional CAN bus interface is also available. With no fans or batteries, the compact controller is also maintenance free.

X20 I/O modules can be connected directly to the controller and line up seamlessly. The entire system saves a large amount of space in the control cabinet. Even with its narrow dimensions, the controller has a built-in power supply for itself and the connected I/O modules. There is no need for a separate power supply module.

MOBILE 3D SMART CAMERA
This 3D smart camera from ifm electronic designed for mobile applications is the first 3D sensor system with integrated additional 2D camera. The overlay function allows to showing obstacles and display warnings, symbols and even complex drawings in real time. The signal processing in the sensor makes an external process unit unnecessary. The ifm Vision Assistant allows user-specific parameter setting in just a few steps.

Augmented reality - now in real 3D
All text messages and graphic elements are either triggered by the integrated driver assistance system or by the machine controller via CAN. Thus, the user can always see all relevant warnings or other relevant details in the clearly structured camera image.

Integrated assistance system
In addition to the 3D and 2D image sensor, a complete evaluation system is integrated in the housing. This system also provides an independent assistance system for collision avoidance for the user. Set-up only requires just a few steps using the Vision Assistant PC software. In addition to the analogue video output, the smart camera also features a CAN and Ethernet UDP interface. The system can use this interface to supply warnings in critical situations autonomously. This trendsetting technology allows a completely new and quick perception.
