Dynapac Unveils Heaviest Pneumatic Tyre Roller
Dynapac has launched its new CP28 pneumatic tyre roller, which it claims to be the heaviest ballastable model available in the market. Designed for both asphalt and soil compaction, the CP28 boasts a modular weight range from 21,000 to 68,000 pounds.
The machine features a staggered wheel configuration—four in front and four at the rear—and can be ballasted using steel plates, water, sand, steel shot, or scrap metal. A new operator station with a 7-inch touchscreen, swivel keypad, and sliding controls enhances user experience.
The CP28 is powered by a 134-horsepower Cummins F 3.8 engine and achieves a top speed of 12 mph. It also includes EcoMode and EcoSave technologies to reduce idle time and maintain low engine rpm, helping to improve fuel economy.
Each tyre is equipped with its own sprinkler system, scraper bar, and cocoa mat to minimise asphalt pickup. The “Air on the Run” system allows the operator to inflate tyres from 0 to 12 psi within 12 minutes from the cab.
The front suspension features 4.5-degree lateral oscillation and 1.5-degree tilt in either direction, while the rear allows for 2 degree of tilt, ensuring maximum ground contact and uniform compaction. The production of the CP28 is scheduled to begin in June.
