We have a long term vision for Indian market
Product range: On a global level, we have come out with two product categories: drum cutters and grapples. We want to be careful with what we do in India because we have a long term vision for this market. Considering the GDP prospects, most players are entering India but it is a demanding market. Especially, in the construction equipment sector, where the performance of the machine, long term sustainability and the entire product life cycle are very important. The Indian consumers are demanding in terms of understanding where every Rupee he spends is going. For example: our grapple has an intense completion in India. The technology component is less compared to product like bucket crusher. Therefore, we do not want to be just a player and instead we desire to remain in the forefront of innovation through our products - the bucket crushing and screening solutions. We are evaluating drum cutters for which there are key players present in India but we believe that there is enough space for MB in this niche application and we can compete in this segment.
Expectations: We have high expectations from BAUMA as we are a global leader in these products. We hope that demonetisation will not mark down the number of foot falls. Usually it is the second and third when we expect more foot falls and we will be able to propel MB into 2017. We are a global partner of CONEXPO and participate BAUMA fairs in many countries. We hope that this exposure will counter act some of the slowdown driven by demonetisation.
